How to play
Texas Holdem is one of the most popular card games in America and all over the world. Every day more and more players start playing this poker game in online casinos and poker rooms. If you are a novice and this is the first time you hear about Texas Hold'em this section is exactly for you. Here you will find information about the basic rules.
A good game of Texas Holdem requires at least six players. It is possible more players to be added depending on the size of a given table. The players also may be fewer than six, but it's a difficult game to play with fewer players.
Texas Hold'em is played with standard 52-card deck and it does not use jokers or any other wild cards.
As in most card games, the role of the dealer is to deal the cards. The dealer of Texas Hold'em starts the dealing from his left and continues clockwise.
The player to the immediate left of the dealer is known as "little blind". He is the one who posts an original wager, and to his immediate left is a player referred to as the "big blind". He has to post a bet twice as large before the first cards are dealt.
In the beginning every player receives two cards downface, which are also called the hole cards. Then there is a round of betting, where every player wager money according to his cards. In the second round, three community cards are dealt. They are also known as the Flop. Texas Holdem players have the chance to check, raise and fold. In the third round, a fourth community card is dealt and it is called the Turn. Another round of betting comes after that. In the fourth round a fifth and final community card is dealt. It is called the River Card. After that card follows the final round of betting. The remaining players then use their two pocket cards and the five community cards to create the best five-card hand possible. Winner is the player with highest ranking hand and the is the only one who takes the pot.
If it happens two or more poker players have the same hand, the pot is split equally between them.
